Fitness For Triathlon - The 4th Discipline

I’m really excited about a new workshop that I’m part of. In January I’ll be delivering a 1-day workshop down in my old stomping ground (Birmingham) alongside two former colleagues (Mark Jarvis and Ian Pyper). In the 4th Discipline workshop we are going to discuss why swim, bike, run just doesn’t cut it…

So girls get your dresses at the ready and lets talk shoes and handbags as I know the boys are loving that converastion compared to bike talk. Sports That Anyone Can Pick Up Quickly
When I was born, my dad was waiting in the delivery room with a golf club in one hand and a helmet in the other. He was certain of two things: 1) that I was a boy and 2) that he would teach me every sport known to man. He was half right and for the next 13 years, I excelled at every sport possible. These days (in…

ANYthing With Wheels
Call me a sports fanatic, I love anything that will make you break a sweat! From jogging to mountain climbing, I am an avid outdoorswoman as well. This may explain my latest love for anything with wheels. There is something about a guy on a bike or something that goes really fast that is super exciting and very sexy. Maybe it's because I am approaching 40, but the freedom that comes with wheels is getting me addicted to rolling around on my bike and picking up a board.

The New Jobs That Come With Marrying a Triathlete
For better or worse is how the saying goes. If you've been married for more than 5 years, you truly get the meaning behind this phrase. If you are married to a triathlete, you really get the other half to this saying: in sickness and in health (and in triathlons). No one warned me that there is yet ANOTHER part to this age old vow. The disclaimer: you now will take on more jobs than you ever thought possible. That's right, I am now the following thanks to my husband, who loves to…

Eggs, eggs, eggs!
This article appeared in The Times on 18th Feb 2011. It has a link to 12 recipes, which I haven't included as it was basically eggs with a whole load of banned substances such as hollandaise sauce & potato! Anyway, the message is simple, eggs are great!
If you subscribe to The Times, here's the link to the article:…

Hello Folks,
In April I am doing a motorbike ride to India. As part of that I am going to raise money for UNICEF and have organised a Social Evening for sports people at Newcastle Cricket Club (7.30 till 11.30). As well as an indian buffet meal, disco, bar and varius raffles, Jim Alder (1966 Marathon Gold etc) and Sharon Gayter (Ultra Runner) have agreed to be speakers.
The cost is £15 per ticket and all the money goes to UNICEF and none towards my trip. Help make this…

Budapest Day 2
Got up nice early and walked down to registration and the swim course, this took around 25 minutes to walk as I was not sure where I was heading.
Once at the start I put on my wetsuit to rec the course and it was cold!!!!! I felt great in the swim tho so that put a little smile on my face. Once out of the water I meet up with Tracy and Ian and had a bit of a chat about the course.
Once registered I headed back to the hotel to change and then go out for a run. I…

180 Prinicple - Do The Exact Opposite
The endurance community have an obsession with developing an 'aerobic base' and I'm just not convinced that it is the only way to get the job done. It's time to free your mind and consider
just for a minute a world where intensity rules and developing lungs like
dustbin liners through slow, steady high volume workouts are a thing of the
past.....I know it's hard to consider but just read this article and take some
time to…
