Hi Iain,

Whats your plans this weekend? Any MTB action?

Iain, you're right, injections are a last resort, but it seems to have done the trick; back up the good milage on the bike now, so things are going in the right direction. Fingers crossed.
Hawaii was fantastic; i agree, i was keen to see a head to head between Macca and Alexander; i thought Macca would pitch up at Clearwater, but it turns out he's doing some half distance race out in Las Vegas the same w/e. I think when those guys get to that level the only thing that matters is Kona, and if it goes tits up, they're done anyway. Its not like he has to requalify or anything (winners never have to requalify).
I hope the mtb'ing has sparked a new lease of training life into you - Blair loves it just now too. Thatss the great thing about triathlon - so many training variables.
Sounds like the whole lot of the team are heading to Roth; Phil is a superb recruiting agent!

Less of the old man please! I am going to Emma's at Xmas but don't know for how long as I still do not have much in the way of coaching cover but we have a couple of people interested in my old post! I am going home on Sunday now as I have come down a day early. Cameran is fairly filling out! Speak soon, take care

Canada is awesome dude, having a great time and managing to get the solid miles in too. I agree...Phil wants to steal all the decent swimmers, I'm a bit biased though as I am a definite triathlete now and would try and convince as many people as possible to start.
Roth does sound like an awesome race to watch, especially with what is basically the whole team doing it. As long as there isn't a race on that exact day ill be there, ill just be the team bitch =]
You gonna do it?

Well it getting ready for CW took a bit of a stumble last week when i had a cortisone injection just above my knee . . . i was struggling with a tightness that just wouldnt go away after Sherbourne - i wasnt riding more than 40ks, and the Duathlon in Stirling last week was the tipping point, so the physio suggested we go for it as the worst scenario was no improvement. I had 5 days off the bike after that and i've ridden twice since getting here. So far so good with no pain. As long as i can get 2 big weeks in starting next Sun/Mon i willl be happy with my prep. Time will tell! I hope you're getting into the swing of things as much as you can?
